Masseria Altemura
Masseria Altemura is a beautifully restored 17th-century fortified farmhouse nestled in Puglia’s Salento Peninsula that blends sustainable modern winemaking with centuries-old architecture and indigenous grape varieties.
About Masseria Altemura
Italy
Located between the Ionian and Adriatic seas in Salento, Masseria Altemura spans roughly 270 hectares – 130 hectares of vineyards and 40 of olive groves. The estate benefits from a unique microclimate shaped by sea breezes and reflective limestone that play a part in grape ripening. Owned by the Zonin family since 2000, the historic masseria has been thoughtfully restored using local stone and sustainable design, housing both the original farmhouse and a modern eco-friendly winery. It specialises in wines made from Puglia’s native varietals, particularly Primitivo of the Manduria DOC, as well as Negroamaro, Aglianico, Fiano, and other regional grapes, offering a refined expression of the Salento.
