The Rialto Bridge is one of the most famous landmarks in Venice and is the oldest bridge spanning the Grand Canal. Built in 1591 and designed by Antonio da Ponte, the stone bridge replaced earlier wooden versions that had collapsed and was once the only way to cross the Grand Canal on foot. The bridge features a single stone arch spanning 48 meters, with elegant arcades and three walkways. From the top of the bridge, you get a breathtaking view of the Grand Canal, with gondolas and vaporettos passing below.
