Landscaped gardens designed in the 19th century offering fountains, paths and Douro River views
About Palácio de Cristal (Crystal Palace Gardens)
Porto
Palácio de Cristal is a beautiful park and historic landmark offering stunning views of the Douro River and the city. Originally built in 1865 as a glass-and-steel structure, the palace itself was demolished in the 1950s, but the surrounding gardens remain a popular destination. The Crystal Palace Gardens are known for their well-maintained paths, picturesque fountains, flowerbeds, and panoramic viewpoints. The park is home to several monuments, sculptures, and even a small lake. It’s an ideal place for a relaxing walk or picnic, and its elevated position offers some of the best views of Porto. The gardens are also home to the Portuguese Center of Photography, housed in the former Palácio da Cristal building.
