Famed highland waterfall in Switzerland dropping 297 metres from a scenic hanging valleyStaubbach Falls is a stunning waterfall in Lauterbrunnen Valley, standing at 297 meters tall, making it one of Europe’s highest free-falling waterfalls. The falls cascade from a hanging valley above the village, creating a misty veil that sparkles in the sunlight. Easily accessible from the centre of Lauterbrunnen, you can walk to the base for a close-up view or follow a path that takes them behind the waterfall through a specially built gallery. Standing behind the curtain of water is a thrilling and awe-inspiring experience. The best time to visit is in the warmer months when the waterfall is at its fullest, especially following the snowmelt. However, even in winter, the frozen falls offer a serene and captivating sight.
