Plan Your DreamItalian Riviera Journey
Why Visit?
From glamorous Portofino to the pastel villages of Cinque Terre, the Riviera offers a stunning coastline, seafood delights, and a blend of elegance and charm.
Best Time to Visit
April to June and September are ideal for swimming and coastal walks without peak crowds; some towns wind down in winter, especially smaller fishing villages.
Getting There & Around
Fly into Genoa or Pisa, then travel by train to La Spezia or Santa Margherita; private drivers provide access to hilltop hamlets and secluded coves. Talk to us about how best to get around and discover the best of the region.
Accessibility
Cinque Terre is extremely difficult for limited mobility—steep steps and hills abound. Portofino is also challenging. La Spezia and Santa Margherita may be better options in this region. We work closely with our local team to assist with accessibility needs – contact us to discuss how we can support your journey.
Booking Considerations
Cinque Terre accommodations are limited and popular, however not always of the highest star rating. Reserve 4–6 months in advance for summer. We recommend staying outside of the towns (e.g. in Sestri Levante)and doing day trips in for a better stay. Book scenic boat tours and upscale restaurants in Portofino early during the high season.
