Faraglioni Rocks
Iconic sea stacks off Capri’s southern coast, best seen by boat or from scenic lookouts like Punta Tragara
About Faraglioni Rocks
Campania
The Faraglioni Rocks are three iconic limestone sea stacks off the southern coast of Capri, rising dramatically from the Tyrrhenian Sea and embodying the island’s wild natural beauty. Each rock has a name and a unique feature: Stella is closest to the shore, Faraglione di Mezzo features a famous arch that boats can pass through, and Scopolo lies furthest out and is home to the rare blue lizard found only here. These legendary formations are steeped in mythology—some say they were hurled by the Cyclops in Homer’s Odyssey—and are best admired either by boat or from scenic viewpoints like the Gardens of Augustus or the Via Tragara trail.
