Day: 1 Taormina – Lipari

Transfer from Taormina to Milazzo to board your ferry to Lipari, located in the beautiful Tyrrehenian Sea. Enjoy the rest of the day to explore the largest island in the volcanic archipelago of the Aeolian Islands. Areas of interest include Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, the Marina Corta, Via Giuseppe Garibaldi and Piazza Municipio hosting the highly-rated Ristorante da Filippino.

Day: 2 Lipari – Vulcano – Lipari

Board a ferry for the neighbouring volcanic island of Vulcano. On the way, pass the volcanic formation ‘Faraglioni de Lipari’ or guardians of the island, the larger reaching 80 metres from the sea. On arrival into Vulcano, enjoy a panoramic tour of the island including the Belvedere Capo Grillo lookout. Afterward you have free time with options that include hiking to the Gran Crater, a therapeutic mud bath fuelled by the Islands famous hot springs, or simply relax at the beach.

Day: 3 Lipari – Panarea – Stromboli – Lipari

Transfer by private driver to Lipari’s iconic Tenuta di Castellaro Winery and discover indigenous grape varieties as Malvasia delle Lipari and Carricante, paired with a lunch featuring local food. Afterward, ferry to the island of Panarea renowned for its stylish lifestyle and then onto Stromboli to see the amazing ‘Strombolicchio’ – a volcanic plug formation that inspired Mordor from Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. A boat excursion stretching into the evening is a must to hopefully witness the spectacle of the “Sciara del Fuoco” or street of fire.

Day: 4 Lipari – Salina – Lipari

Visit Salina with its luscious vegetation, hosting 400 different types of plants and where grapes, olives and capers are cultivated. The island is the filming location for Italy’s popular move ‘Il Postino’ or The Postman, but what sets the island apart is the wonderful clear water, beautiful beaches and quaint town skirted with palm trees and wide promenades. On arrival, your private driver will meet you and transfer you to a local farm to taste local products including capers, cheese and bruschetta paired with their excellent wines. The rest of the day is available to self-explore more of Salina before returning to Lipari by ferry.
