About Parco Sempione
Italy
Parco Sempione is a large public park in central Milan, covering nearly 39 hectares. Created in 1888 on former military parade grounds near Castello Sforzesco, the park was designed in the style of an English landscape garden with sweeping lawns, shaded paths, and a peaceful artificial lake. It’s home to several iconic landmarks, including the Castello Sforzesco at one end and the neoclassical Arco della Pace at the other. Within the park, you can also explore the Arena Civica, a historic stadium, and climb the Torre Branca, a steel observation tower offering panoramic views of Milan. Parco Sempione is a popular escape for locals and tourists alike, with tree-lined trails for walking or jogging, open spaces for relaxing and picnicking, and a calm atmosphere right in the heart of the city. It also hosts cultural events and exhibitions throughout the year, making it a vibrant part of Milan’s urban life.
