Best Places to Visit in Italy

Italy has consistently been one of the most sought after holiday destination for decades. The country’s diverse culture, its long history, beautiful art, amazing nature and culinary delights are a big hit with travelers from all over the world. We compiled a list of our favourite things to do in the country and our best places to visit in Italy. Of course, no such list could ever be complete when it comes to such a diverse and wonderful destination, but our highlights will give you a great idea of what to expect in Italy, from the south to the north of the nation.

Experience fine art in Florence

Walking around Florence, the jewel of Tuscany, almost feels like stumbling around in a giant museum. The whole city is littered with artistic masterpieces, stunning historical buildings, sculptures from the most influential masters (such as Donatello) and world-famous museums the likes of Galleria Degli Uffizi. The town is relatively small, so it is possible to walk around the main attractions in a full day of exploration. Don’t forget to take a break and sample some of the best Tuscan food from one of the many fine dining restaurants. We recommend “Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco”, just a little ways from the iconic Ponte Vecchio

Visit Naples for a taste of the South

From the monumental beauty of Piazza Plebiscito to the raw fascination of the Vesuvius, a dormant Volcano looming over the city, Naples is certainly one of the most interesting metropolises in the country, worth visiting for the charming historical center, the beautiful surrounding coast (Amalfi coast, Positano and Sorrento are just a little ways from the city and easy to reach by bus or boat) as well as some incredible food: this is the city where pizza was born!

High-end fashion shopping in Milan

Milan is one of the most “European” cities in the country, and it’s known for its high end shopping outlets, particularly in the world of fashion.  Popular main streets the likes of Via Torino are a haven for world-class names in the industry of haute couture: from Gucci to Valentino and Dolce & Gabbana, you can expect the finest brands and the most exclusive products.

Explore the canals in Venice
