About Mt Rigi
Rigi
Mount Rigi, known as the “Queen of the Mountains,” is a stunning peak in central Switzerland, surrounded by Lake Lucerne, Lake Zug, and Lake Lauerz. Its summit, Rigi Kulm, rises to 1,797 metres and offers sweeping views of the Swiss Alps and the surrounding lakes. Accessible all year round, Mount Rigi is reached by Europe’s first cogwheel railway from Vitznau or Arth-Goldau, or by cable car from Weggis to Rigi Kaltbad. In summer, over 120 kilometres of hiking trails wind across the mountain, including the scenic Rigi Panorama Trail. In winter, the area transforms into a peaceful snowy retreat ideal for skiing, snowshoeing, and tobogganing. For relaxation, Rigi Kaltbad offers a mineral spa with warm pools and views across the Alps. Easily reached from Lucerne or Zurich, Mount Rigi combines nature, history and wellness in one of Switzerland’s most iconic alpine settings.
