About Meteora Monastery
Greece
Meteora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its towering rock formations topped with centuries-old monasteries. These monasteries, built between the 14th and 16th centuries, were constructed on nearly inaccessible cliffs to provide isolation and protection for monks. Of the original two dozen, six are still active today and open to visitors. The dramatic landscape, blending natural beauty with spiritual heritage, makes Meteora one of the most breathtaking and significant religious sites in Greece.
