History
Established in 1998, Ormina Tours evolved from a specialist travel division into a bespoke European tour operator. Represented by over 300 Australian agents, our clients span the globe. A family-run company with European roots, we started with Italian tours and now operate in over 20 countries, offering unrivalled small group and private journeys across the continent.
Purpose
Our purpose is to enrich people’s lives through rewarding travel experiences. From the smallest of details that wow, to the trip-defining decisions, we elevate every part of the journey above the ordinary. Ross Ioppolo
As CEO of Ormina Tours, Ross is the visionary behind the company. Transforming Ormina Tours from the early days of his mother’s travel agency, Ross has continued to lead the way in curating unique and memorable European itineraries for our clients. Having lived in the UK, USA and Hungary, Ross has always had a love of travel and exploring new places and hopes to cover off the Greek Islands soon as one of the very few remaining places in Europe that he has not yet visited.
Anna Jones
Anna is no stranger to global travel having relocated from New York to Perth over a decade ago. An avid traveller herself, Anna recommends considering ‘what is your vision’ when planning a trip. Think about the experiences you would like to have and let that be your guide when choosing your destination. When it comes to a favourite destination to work with clients – Anna can’t resist the charms of Sicily with its rich culture, fabulous food and amazing historical architecture.
Kylie Garrety
As the longest-standing member of Ormina’s reservations team, Kylie will be a familiar voice to our regular customers. With a deep understanding of travel trends, complexities and nuances from over 30 years in the business, Kylie heads up our highly skilled reservations team. With their stunning landscapes, rich culture and unique charms, the Amalfi Coast and Puglia are among her favourite destinations to work with. In 2025 Kylie will be ticking off another of her bucket list items with her first trip to exotic Türkiye.
Allison Yancey
Travelling around the world for 4 years while working on cruise ships, Allison knows a thing or two about international travel. Originally from Ottawa, Canada and now permanently living in Australia, she is no stranger to the excitement of experiencing a new destination for the first time. Allison particularly enjoys helping travellers discover the huge variety of experiences on offer in Italy, and on the flipside, the relatively untouched beauty of Slovenia.
Karen Russell
A valuable asset to our reservations team, Karen brings her high attention to detail and curiosity about the world to the fore. She loves to work with destinations she is yet to visit as she enjoys the opportunity to learn. Karen believes it’s important to travel to places you want to go to – not just places that a travel guide say you should! High on her own bucket list are Ireland and Scotland, where she would love to hike and bike through the beautiful landscapes and meet the lovely local people.
Caterina Tedesco
Having relocated from Australia to Rome, Caterina is living la dolce vita! Stepping back into her Italian heritage, Caterina now spends her free time exploring the amazing piazzas and trattorias of Italy. For an authentic Italian experience, Caterina recommends Italy’s Calabria region – the tip of the ‘Italian boot’. With welcoming locals, beautiful beaches and fabulous food, Calabria is a hidden gem that mass tourism has yet to find.
Sonia Speroni
When not finding amazing experiences and lovely hotels for our clients, Sonia loves to escape to the Aeolian Islands for a peaceful yoga retreat and rustic local immersion. With regular visits to our amazing Ormina hotels, and attending European trade shows every year, she has her finger on the pulse of not just the best product, but also the up-and-coming destinations of choice for the discerning traveller.
Anita Carelli
If there is a cheap flight or bargain train ticket on offer, Anita will take advantage! When not coordinating our customer’s fabulous holidays, Anita is probably off on her own European adventure – Finland, Serbia, Spain – she will pack a bag and head off for the weekend at every opportunity. Recently Anita has fallen in love with Scotland and the fun-loving Scottish people, which is unsurprising given her love of castles and Harry Potter!
Alice Capitolo
Lucky Alice spreads her time between the beautiful mountains and lakes of the Piedmont region, and the sunshine and laidback culture of Sicily, getting the best of both worlds throughout the year. Alice brings her wealth of knowledge of the European travel market to her role coordinating exceptional experiences throughout Italy and the rest of Europe. Her favourite European adventure so far? Experiencing the fascinating culture and stunning nature in Iceland.
Louise Sammut
Living in Malta, Louise loves visiting Sicily because of the proximity of the 2 islands. Taking a car across to Sicily allows her to explore Sicily’s amazing historical sights, meet the friendly locals and enjoy delicious cuisine as she explores the island at her own pace. Having lived in Malta her whole life and working in the Maltese travel industry for over 35 years, Louise is our undisputed expert on the beautiful, sun-soaked Mediterranean island.
Louisa Bayman
Marketing & CX Manager Louisa always has the customer experience at the top of mind. Whether its designing beautiful documentation or creating an informative website and brochure, Louisa ensures the Ormina brand shines through. Given the chance to board a plane tomorrow, Louisa would head to Spain and Portugal to explore the diverse cultural influences on their architecture and enchanted fairytale natural landscapes. Not to mention the stunning palatial hotels, incredible food, lively dining venues and fun dancing experiences like flamenco.
Rheyanna Pagkaliwagan
As a member of the marketing team, Rheyanna has the enviable tasks of spending her days surrounded by beautiful images and interesting stories as she puts together inspiring content for our socials, webinars, newsletters and advertising pieces. A keen traveller she has many items on her travel bucket list, but an escape to the French countryside is in the number one spot. Staying in a chateau, eating fresh baguettes and wandering through quaint little villages – who doesn’t dream of une escapade en France?!
Kerrie O’Mahony
Having spent a year living in Ireland and working with tours and activities for over 15 years, Kerrie loves to share her extensive knowledge of how to find the best experiences in Europe. Outside of work Kerrie can be found wherever you might find animals – particularly the swimming kind. Given the opportunity she would be straight on a plane to experience the amazing wildlife of the Galapagos Islands off the coast of South America, or swimming with whale sharks on Western Australia’s Ningaloo Reef.
Jaqui White
Jacqui joins the team from sunny Queensland. Lucky Jacqui has honeymooned in Crete and danced the night away in Tenerife, but these days the most important factor when choosing a destination is the suitability for kids. Prioritising activities and dining options for children results in a more relaxing holiday where your hotel can truly be your home away from home. Jacqui’s dream experience in Europe – ballet classes in Paris - que c'est magnifique!
