Strategically placed on the Bosphorus Peninsula, the Mediterranean and the Black Sea and formerly the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire, Istanbul truly is where East meets West. On arrival, transfer to your remarkable hotel in the old town and enjoy the evening at your leisure.

Enjoy a guided walking tour of the historic old town, bounded by ancient walls that contain unique architectural masterpieces of Byzantine and Ottoman periods illustrating distinguished phases of human history. The area is UNESCO World Heritage Listed. Visit Topkapi Palace, the royal residence of the Ottoman Sultans that includes the Imperial Treasury. Continue to the famous Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque) and finish with a visit to the Grand Bazaar, a labyrinth of 4,000 shops making it one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the World. The rest of the day is at your leisure providing enticing options that include shopping through the Grand Bazaar or visiting Dolmabahce Palace or Suleymaniye Mosque.

Continue your exploration of the historic town with your private guide to visit the Hagia Sophia and its vast iconic dome, built in the 5th century. Continue underground to the Basilica Cistern, the largest ancient water receptacle build beneath the city. Afterward, visit the famous Egyptian Bizaar or Spice Market that includes spices, dried fruits, nuts and seeds. The rest of the day is at your leisure to perhaps visit one of the many Ottoman bathhouses.
