Lively, entertaining, sexy and real. Welcome to Berlin, Germany’s cosmopolitan capital and the perfect place to commence our tour through the heart and soul of Central Europe. Upon arrival, be transferred to your world-renowned hotel before enjoying the evening at your leisure. For those arriving early, you may consider visiting Potsdam, the residence of Prussian kings and German Kaisers until 1918. Here you may visit Sanssouci and its gardens, the former summer palace of Frederick the Great and Cecilienhof Palace, where Churchill, Stalin and Truman decided the future of Germany post-World War ll. Both places are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

After breakfast, commence with a guided tour of the main sites including the iconic Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag the Holocaust Memorial, Checkpoint Charlie, the Berlin Wall Memorial, and the Stasimuseum. Options include Museum Island and the Pergamon Museum, Charlottenburg Palace, a street art and graffiti tour, or simply stroll the streets and enjoy Berlin’s lively restaurants, bars and shopping precinct.

Day: 3 Berlin – Prague

After breakfast, transfer to Berlin Central Station for a comfortable train journey riding 1st class to beautiful Prague, the historical capital of the Kingdom of Bohemia that was (for periods) an important city of the Holy Roman Empire, the House of Habsburg and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Freshen up at your centrally-located hotel before enjoying the rest of he day at your leisure.

Enjoy a guided walking tour of the Czech Republic’s capital, including its UNESCO World Heritage Listed centre, the old town square and tower, iconic Charles Bridge, Lennon Wall, Loreto Palace and the UNESCO-listed Prague Castle. Built in 870, this castle houses the Bohemian Crown jewels. The rest of the day is free to enjoy as you wish; stroll the streets, take in the view from Petřín Hill or enjoy Prague’s great shopping, particularly its Bohemian crystals and galleries in Malá Strana, wooden handcrafted items and luxury shopping in Pařížská.

Enjoy the entire day to explore at your leisure. Suggestions include: the Lobkowicz Palace containing 600 years of Czech and European history and the country’s largest and oldest private art gallery; the National Gallery and photography expeditions at the Prague House of Photography, Leica Gallery or Galerie Fotografie Louvre. In the evening, you may consider a performance at the magnificent State Opera or visit Prague’s famous beer houses.

Day: 6 Prague – Český Krumlov – Vienna

Breakfast

Depart for the charming 13th century town Český Krumlov, known for its picturesque setting clustered around the winding Vitava River plus its UNESCO World Heritage Listed historic centre and castle. Continue to Vienna, rich in architectural ensembles, including Baroque castles and gardens, as well as the Ringstrasse lined with grand buildings, monuments and parks. Dubbed the ‘City of Music’ due to its musical legacy, Vienna also recently ranked 2nd in the ‘Most liveable cities’.

Discover Vienna with a guided half-day tour. See the famous Ringstrasse, with its stunning 19th century buildings such as the Parliament, Town Hall, Rathausplatz, State Opera, the Hofburg Palace and the Imperial Treasury. Also visit the historic centre including St Stephen’s Cathedral, Stephansplatz and a famous coffee house. The afternoon is yours to relax or perhaps explore Belvedere Palace, Sisi Museum or Kunsthistorisches Museum of Fine Arts.
In the evening, experience the trendy bars in Innere Stadt or consider a night with Mozart and Vienna’s Philharmonic orchestra at the beautiful Musikverein.
