Enjoy a guided walking tour that visits Zagreb’s main attractions. Visit bustling Ban Jelačić Square, Zagreb’s heart and soul where locals socialise in the many sidewalk cafés. The square is lined with Habsburg-era buildings and features a statue symbolising Croatia’s struggle for independence. Pass through the bustling Dolac market to ‘Upper town’ – Zagreb’s old town for a historical perspective. See the Stone Gate, enjoy the view from Lotrščak Tower, visit popular Tkalčićeva ulica and enter the Mestrovic Atelier Museum, displaying works of Croatia’s famed sculptor. Continue to the National Theatre, a neo-baroque architectural masterpiece featuring Mestrovic’s wall fountain ‘The Source of Life’ and finish with Zagreb’s impressive Botanical Gardens.

Day: 3 Zagreb – Plešivica wine region – Zagreb

Enjoy a full day excursion with your private driver to the picturesque Plešivica, otherwise known as ‘Croatia’s Champagne region’ and home of Croatian sparkling wines. Discover indigenous grapes varieties like Graševina and Ottonel (for local white wines) and Portugizec (young red wine), Croatia’s answer to Beaujolais. The altitude of 500 meters above sea level makes Plešivica a perfect region for Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
