Day: 1 San Sebastián

Welcome to northern Spain’s mountainous Basque Country on the beautiful Bay of Biscay. On arrival, check into your wonderful hotel and enjoy the day at leisure to explore beautiful Concha Bay, considered one of the best beaches in Europe.

Day: 2 San Sebastián

Enjoy a guided walking tour of San Sebastián old town, enshrined within city walls until 1863. Visit Plaza de la Constitution, San Vicente church, the Basilica of Santa Maria and San Telmo Museum. Enjoy a glass of Txakoli wine and Pintxo, the Basque version of Tapas. Afterward, take the funicular to visit Mount Igeldo to enjoy an iconic view of the Bay. In the afternoon, enjoy leisure time to perhaps wander the new town including the Plaza de Gipuzkoa, Plaza de Bilbao, the Maria Cristina Bridge and the Victoria Eugenia Theatre.

Day: 3 San Sebastián – Pamplona – San Sebastián

Enjoy an excursion to Pamplona, best known for the annual ‘running of the bulls’ held around July 7 to 14. Enjoy a guided tour of the town, holding significance for its military past and its notable religious Gothic buildings. Also walk the route of the running of the bull’s event from Arga to the Plaza de Toros bullring before returning to San Sebastian.

Day: 4 San Sebastián – Bilbao – La Rioja region

Depart for Bilbao and a private tour of the Frank Gehry designed Guggenheim Bilbao Museum and its eclectic collection. Afterward, enjoy free time to wander through the town including the bustling Bilbao Ribera market, Parque del Arenal, Church of San Nicolas, Plaza Nueva, Santiago Cathedral and Plaza Miguel de Unamuno. Continue into the La Rioja region to check into your relaxing retreat.
